Can the thunder do it? Can the additions of Paul George and Carmelo Anthony push OKC over the top. I don't know if they can take Golden State down but they definitely have a chance. With Westbrook, Melo and George all averaging over 35 minutes played through the first few games the Thunder look in sync and tough to beat.

Russell Westbrook has been himself thus far averaging 19/11/9. Scoring production may look down but with two scorers like Melo and George on the roster Westbrook couldn't care less.

Carmelo has looked like Hoodie Melo thus far averaging 23.7 ppg and also 2 steals. Carmelo is finally in a place where he can be successful. He no longer has to be the best player on the floor and can focus on what he does best, score. Melo also has defensive mismatches in each game as he is playing the 4 in OKC. Russell Westbrook also opens the floor up for Melo with his play style. Carmelo has a supporting cast and I know he is happy to be apart of the Thunder squad.

Paul George has been successful thus far for very similar reasons. He is not the sole focus of defenses anymore and also plays on a defensive minded team now leading to an increase in transition buckets.

This Thunder team is the real deal. They can score and they play tough defense. They will give Golden State a run for the money this year. They match up almost everywhere on defense, Draymond Green presenting the only problem. Let's hope the NBA reseeds the teams 1-16 cause I would love to see a GSW vs OKC NBA Finals. Let's call up Adam Silver.
