With Week 8 upcoming the Redskins look improved and ready to compete down the stretch. The season didn't start out well with the Redskins struggling against the Eagles in week 1. The game was closer than what the final score of 30-17 said. Kirk Cousins fumbled the football on a controversial call from the referees late in the 4th quarter. Week 1 was a disappointing loss but the offense and Kirk Cousins showed the ability to compete and score.

Week 2's matchup with the Rams was a must win for the Redskins squad. Jay Gruden faced off with former Redskin Offensive Coordinator Sean McVay. Rob Kelley ran the ball down the throat of the Ram defense until he exited with an injury to his ribs. The Rams tied the game halfway through the 4th quarter with a field goal. Cousins showed what he was made of in the two minute offense. He marched the Redskins down the field and tossed a touchdown to Ryan Grant with under two minutes to play.

No one thought the Redskins could take down the Raiders in Week 3, but they sure did. In a convincing 27-10 victory the Redskins looked good on both sides of the ball. Cousins threw for 365 yards and 3 touchdowns. Chris Thompson had 150 yards receiving and 38 on the ground.

The Redskins week 4 matchup with the Chiefs was a fun game to watch. The Redskins stayed in the game with the 3-0 Chiefs. The Skins had the Chiefs right where they wanted when Cousins lofted a beautiful ball to Doctson in the endzone. A perfect ball right into his hands, dropped. The Redskins had to settle for a field goal and lost the game. A tough one to swallow for the fans and players.

The Redskins had a chance to regroup and get healthy in their week 5 bye.

The Week 6 matchup with the 49ers was much closer than Redskins fans wanted, but it ended in a win. The 49ers brought C.J Beathard in the game and the Skins defense made him look like an elite QB. The Redskins held a 17 point lead but almost blew it to a winless team. The defense definitely missed Josh Norman.

Kirk Cousins Monday Night Football struggles continued. Even though Cousins threw for 303 yards and 3 scores the Redskins couldn't keep up with Wentz. Wentz threw for 4 scores and looked elite and ready to lead his team to a division title.

The Redskins sit at 3--3 and ready to fight for the rest of the season. The likelihood of catching the Eagles in the east is slim but a wild card spot can definitely happen. Kirk needs to continue to play well and the defense must keep improving.
