Before this course I never realized the importance of Typography. The three games I played were both interesting and taught me new skills regarding typography. I didn't realize how little I knew about fonts!

The first game I played was Type Connection:

This game is essentially a dating website for fonts. You choose your character, choose some personality characteristics and then try and play matchmaker with your font. I started with the font "ITC Century" and matched it with "Futura". Type Connection rendered my choice a successful match! The two very different fonts work together well and truly embody the saying that opposites attract!

The second game I played was Kern Type:

This game was my favorite of the three I played. It was challenging and interesting to try and situate the text to make it pleasant and readable. My first few attempts playing this game were very rough. I scored a zero on my first two attempts! After focusing and taking my time I started to improve my scores and understand the concept of kerning.

The third game I played was Type War:

Type war is essentially a guessing game for fonts. I followed your instructions and opened up a word processing system in order to help me in this game. After answering a few with the help of Microsoft Word I closed the application and tried to guess blindly. That did not go well. This game taught me that I did not know as much about fonts as I thought! I enjoyed Type war and it helped me realize how difficult identifying fonts can be!
